HOD’s Message

Greetings,from the Department of Basic Sciences & Humanities! The Basic Sciences & Humanities Department lays the foundation for a successful Engineering career of all students at Don Bosco Institute of Technology. The First Year students are initiated into the Don Bosco Way of learning and are groomed to take up their roles in society not only as good engineers but as good human beings.

A team of dedicated staff members train the students for higher engineering subjects focusing on the academic as well as the overall development through activities like skill development programs, mentoring, one day field trips, projects on sustainability, cultural and sports activities.

Engineering Mathematics, Engineering Physics, Engineering Chemistry and Communications Skills – the four pillars of engineering – are taught through lectures, practicals and tutorials. Moodle, an online Interactive Learning Management System, is widely used by teachers to share notes with students, to conduct tests and to address their doubts.

The department organizes various events under different clubs to ensure that the students get utmost exposure to various experiences, whether related to the avenue of sports, cultural activities or technical knowledge. The department aims at inculcating the practical approach to education in order to help students unearth their hidden talents, unleash their personality and enhance their communication skills to meet the industry's expectations. We at the department level in particular and institutional level in general, are in a constant attempt to provide the best facilities for our budding technocrats. Our Laboratories have been well-furnished to instil learning beyond the syllabus and develop students’ skill sets to become promising engineers in future.
